Pack less with our 10 Piece Summer Capsule Wardrobe.
Posted on June 21 2016
As women, we have a tendency to over pack because we like to have options. You never know what mood you will be in or what occasion will arise during your trip. It's nice to have options, but not if that means packing half of your closet for a week long trip. My good friend always over packs and will readily admit it. We were going downtown for the night to celebrate her birthday. One night! She had an entire suitcase filled with clothes. Her response to my teasing was, "I have so many clothes in here, my options have options". She did have a lot of options, but also a lot of unnecessary "stuff".
There are a lot of tips and tricks out there to help you pack smarter and fit more cloths into a suitcase, but is that really what you need...more clothes? Sometimes, less is more and in this instance it's true. I am going to show you how creating a capsule wardrobe will be the best travel tip you ever received.
You only need 10 pieces of clothing (accessories not included) to bring on your next vacation. No, I'm not crazy. Let me show you how.
With these 10 pieces you can create at least 15 different outfits, from a casual look to a night on the town. The key to creating a functional capsule wardrobe is to use pieces that can be mixed and matched with each other. Am I starting to sound like a broken record? Building your wardrobe with versatile pieces is so key to your everyday style as well as your vacation style.
My Capsule wardrobe includes:
That's it. That is all you need to get through your Summer vacation looking stylish and on point. I picked neutral pieces that most of us already have in our closets, to give you a good idea of how to mix and match the pieces you already own.
Notice that I included minimal accessories as well.
4 pairs of shoes
and a few pieces of jewelry.
If you wanted to increase the versatility of these outfits even more, add a scarf, vest or light jacket to the mix.
